A conference for women entrepreneurs

On 29 and 30 September 2022, Tunis hosted the COMESA Tunisia Business Women Days international conference, organized by the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) and the Ministry of Trade and Export Development, with the support of German cooperation (GIZ) and the COMESA Federation of Women in Business. It was the first time Tunisia hosted this event of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.

Intra-African trade and networking

The goal was to highlight the role of women in African trade and to develop business between women-led companies in Tunisia and COMESA countries. The program included panels on financing and investment, networking sessions between African businesswomen, and the presentation of export consortia in handicrafts, ICT, business services and agri-food.

Evencia’s role

Evencia supported the organization of this conference. An international event focused on networking relies on well-designed spaces: a plenary room for panels, meeting areas for business appointments, multilingual reception of delegations and smooth participant management throughout the two days.

The conference was part of a broader effort to support Tunisian companies exporting to Africa, with the aim of developing intra-African trade, which remains limited. For participants, the value of the two days lay largely in the quality of the business contacts made, which shaped the layout of the networking areas and the scheduling of the sessions.
